Moderne Gallery
Founded in 1984 by Robert Aibel, currently co-directed with Joshua Aibel. Specializing in vintage work of the 20th century, originally classics of the 1920 - 1950's. By 1985, Moderne Gallery was the first gallery that began to focus on the work of George Nakashima. Thereafter, Moderne Gallery was the 1st gallery to specialize in vintage work from the American Studio Craft Movement including furniture, lighting, ceramics, turned wood, fiber, etc. Moderne Gallery is now internationally known for its commitment to 20th and 21st century Studio Crafts and has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper stories - and are still known as the major gallery specializing in the work of George Nakashima and Wharton Esherick.
