The affectionate wishes and desires make us stay strong. The artist, Ok Kim, felt sympathetic for the wishes of others, and she created this artwork to explore the meaning of wishes. Then, like a wish with diverse stories, her rigorous lacquering process involves layer upon layer of increasingly fine base coats until the final top layer is neat and solid. Finally, the longings and aspirations condensed into a single mass comfort us with a bright glare.
