Design Miami/ Basel: COVID-19 Protocols/

We look forward to welcoming you to the 15th edition of Design Miami/ Basel. The following COVID-19 protocols have been established to ensure the safety of our visitors, exhibitors and staff and to comply with the requirements of the Swiss Federal Office of Health and local authorities. We encourage you to review the information carefully to ensure that you can visit the show.

Admission Requirements to visit Design Miami/

To access the fair, you must obtain a valid Swiss or EU COVID-19 certificate. The COVID certificate is a way of documenting that you have been vaccinated for COVID-19, have recovered from COVID-19 or have a negative test result.

The protocol to receive a Swiss COVID-19 certificate varies depending on your vaccination status. Please read the following guidelines to determine which applies to you:

/ For non-Swiss/non-EU guests with a Swiss approved vaccination card: Email proof of valid vaccination or proof of recovery with a photo ID (Passport) to covid-cert@bs.ch by Monday September 13. Should all submitted documents be valid, they will be converted into a Swiss COVID-19 certificate, a printout of which can be picked up at the COVID-19 Vaccine Center in Messe Basel–located adjacent to Hall 5 (Corona Impfzentrum Basel-Stadt Messeplatz 21 4000 Basel)–upon presentation of the original documents (proof of vaccination or proof of recovery and photo ID).
/ For Swiss/EU guests with a Swiss or EU Covid certificate: Simply present your Swiss or EU COVID-19 certificate at the Design Miami/ entrance to gain access to the fair.
/ For guests without a vaccine or without an approved vaccination: For those without a vaccine or for those with a vaccine that has not been approved by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, a negative test will be required to access Design Miami/. Visitors can get a COVID-19 test at any local pharmacy. Upon proof of negative test results, visitors will be issued a temporary Swiss COVID-19 Certificate that is valid for 48 hours. After the 48-hour period has expired, the certificate can be re-instated through the same process outlined above.

    COVID-19 Certificates will be issued to those who fulfill at least (1) one of the following criteria:

    / proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with a vaccine authorized by the Federal Office of Public Health (Swiss COVID-19 certificate);
    / or proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with a vaccine administered in an EU or EFTA country and authorized by these agencies (EU COVID-19 certificate);
    / or a negative COVID-19 PCR test no older than 72 hours;
    / or a negative COVID-19 antigen test no older than 48 hours;
    / or proof of sufficient antigens as a consequence of recovery from COVID-19 not more than 180 days ago.

        Please note that the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health does not recognize all vaccines. For additional information, please visit the Website of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

        Please note: Once inside the hall, protective masks will be enforced in addition to strict sanitation standards. In addition, adjustments to the exhibition floorplan have been made to allow for one-way traffic and social distancing with wider aisles.
