Description

Mercado Moderno

This three-legged stool was designed by Sergio Rodrigues and produced by OCA, the designer’s own production company, in 1954. Inspired by the traditional cow-milking stools used in Brazil, it is structured in solid Brazilian rosewood and features the designer's signature sculpted curves and a delicate handle on the subtly concave seat. Rodrigues (1927-2014) was a prolific and highly acclaimed Brazilian architect-designer. He is often referred to as the father of modern Brazilian design.
