This chromed metal, Jacaranda wood, and leather wall shelf was designed by Sergio Rodrigues and produced by his own company OCA in 1965. The design is named as a tribute to the great American designer, George Nelson. The design is referenced in “Sergio Rodrigues: Catalogue Raisonné published by Edition Icatu in 2000 (p. 263).
Rodrigues (1927-2014) was a prolific and highly acclaimed Brazilian architect-designer. He is often referred to as the father of modern Brazilian design.
