Emerging Objects, a California-based 3D printing studio founded by architects Ronald Rael and Virginia San Fratello, examines how technology can innovate New Mexico’s indigenous pottery traditions. The objects are 3D printed using local micaceous clay and wood-fired using traditional methods to bring out a subtly smoked finish and the clay’s natural sparkle.
