Bronze necklace with verdigris patination comprising 37 graduated dart-shaped links and with a pair of matching earrings with post-fittings in gold. Robert Lee Morris started working with Joan Sonnabend’s Sculpture to Wear gallery in the Plaza Hotel in New York in 1972, before setting up his own gallery Artwear in 1977. Here he also exhibited jewels by his contemporaries including Cara Croninger, John Iverson, Tone Vigeland, Takashi Wada, and Alexandra Watkins, examples of whose work are also included in Didier Ltd’s inventory. Robert Lee Morris subsequently came to design jewels for Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and Karl Lagerfeld.
