Reinier Bosch’s Ink Reader Lamp is a part of his Melting Series. This family of bronze objects appear to be melting, embodying the fluidity of the bronze as it melts in the foundry where it’s made. Wax models are cast in bronze in one piece and then highly polished. This design honors the nature of the material and the love that is poured into it by both the designer and the makers. Born in Groningen, Bosch was the Design Academy Eindhoven’s top-graduating student in 2007, who went on to win the prestigious Melkweg Prize. Wallpaper Magazine recognized him as a promising, upcoming design talent in 2008. His works are characterized by a complexity in the composition, in the arrangement of materials, and in the stories they tell.
