Linda Lopez's newest body of work, Long Lost, is an attempt to puzzle together my unknown cultural past. The objects act as a place to contemplate and reflect. Each object is covered in small hand cut colored porcelain tiles. The shapes reference historical Vietnamese and Mexican textiles that fit together to make an intricate hybrid mosaic surface. These colored porcelain tiles subtly shift colors as they form around the object. The interactive objects allow the viewer to search for shapes, find gaps, and feel the world of in-betweenness.
