Chandigarh, India, this table in teak is also known as a “Square” table. From 1955 to 1965, Pierre Jeanneret devoted most of his time to Punjab University, designing both the buildings and the furniture; the campus furnishings represented the largest single order for Chandigarh. The square-shaped top rests on four tapered legs that interestingly are not continuous with the right angles they are supporting. The table can with ease accommodate up to four seats. This elegant yet sturdy model is typical of Jeanneret’s style. This table presents an overall very good condition.
