The Easy chairs are a very iconic model of lounge chairs designed by Pierre Jeanneret and intended for various administrative buildings in Chandigarh, India.

Made of teak and wicker, they offer a delightful illustration of the Jeanneret’s iconic “compass” style, featuring triangular-section legs. The slightly bent backrest and armrests allow for comfortable seating. These low armchairs present a beautiful wooden patina and are in overall very good condition.

Swiss-born architect and furniture designer Jeanneret (1896-1967) worked for most of his life alongside his cousin Le Corbusier. In the early 1950s, they took on a massive urban planning project in Chandigarh, India, designing and producing low-cost buildings for the community. The city evolved into a landmark of modernist architecture.
