This sconce was designed by Pierre Guariche and edited by Pierre Disderot in 1951. The design can be found in the permanent collection of the Musée National d’Art Moderne-Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Guariche (1926–1995) was a French designer, decorator, and architect who played a key role in disseminating modernist ideas in postwar France. He is known for his innovative approach using industrial materials in a minimalist style.
