Paul Hultberg, Enamel Abstraction 1 $4,800>
Moderne Gallery

This unique enamelwork was created by Paul Hultberg in 1965 for the artist's solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Crafts (now Museum of Arts & Design) in 1966. Like many of Hultberb's porcelain enamels, this piece embodies the spirit of abstract expressionism.

Born in Oakland in 1926, Paul Eric Hultberg, aka Paul Hammer-Hultberg, is an American multidisciplinary artist and educator who was dubbed “among the most progressive artists working in enamel in the mid-20 century.” A virtuoso in the field of enameling, he freely translates the free forms of nature into painterly abstract images.
