Paul Becker began to use glass mosaics in his pieces circa 1952 when he first discovered a block of quartz by his brother in law. This was the starting point of his artistic career. He began making houses and a few months later sold his first mosaics. Becker’s efforts were rewarded and recognized by Jean Cocteau in 1961 when he stated, “you brought flesh to the epidermis of mosaic.
