The Whist Series was produced in 1964 by French manufacturer Airborne International. This relatively simple design presented a new hardware system that made it possible to merge two seats into a bench or back to back.
The series included lounge chairs, ottomans, high-back fireside chairs, low backrests, a duo model and a coffee table, and was only available through professional showrooms. The series did not do well commercially and had a short production period. The lounge chair was only produced in ten copies.
