Kodai Ujiie's interpretation of the tsubo (pot) embraces abstraction. An indigo and blue coat of glaze and celadon, the floating surface of this tsubo seems to ebb and change like water. Irregularity is a hallmark of Ujiie's visual language; the efforts of Ujiie's creative technique is a truly unique tsubo, balanced gently on a hand-shaped foot.
