Inspired by his ongoing research into ancient Scotland's history, Nick Ross designed the Artefact #12 Chair in 2018. It's hand-carved by artisans near Edinburgh using native British sandstone that's simply embellished with linear tooling. Measuring 35 x 60 x 70 cm, it's a small batch production made to order. Nick Ross is a Scottish-Swedish designer based in Stockholm. He studied Product Design at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen and earned his MA in Interior Architecture & Furniture Design at Konstfack in Stockholm.

In 2014, he launched his eponymous studio, through which he explores the complexities of history, creating design objects driven by historical investigations—with a keen interest in the facts and happenings that have determined specific cultural balances. Ross's work aim both to question pre-existing notions and to create bridges between yesterday and today.
