Shaped like a plover bird, this cast bronze flower vase was created by Nakajima Yasumi II and features the attractive warm-brown patina for which the artisan was famous. The bottom signature reads Yasumi.

An Osaka artist with the birth name Mitsuo, Nakajima Yasumi II (1905-86) exhibited at the Shinbunten and Nitten national exhibitions from 1937 to 1957 and received many local and national awards.
