One of the most prominent creatives working in China today, Naihan Li has dedicated her career to combining traditional Chinese fine craft and contemporary functional art.
With her latest series, I Am a Monument, she uses the “lost mold” lacquer technique, which was developed in Fujian China and requires layers of lacquer application and polishing. The entire process is done by hand by the artist herself.
