For his Sea Cocoon series, Nacho Carbonell drew inspiration from sea forms. The hand of the designer is present in the manipulation of the welded metal branches and in the carving of its concrete base. This is a one-of-kind masterpiece of design.
Nacho Carbonell (b. 1980) is known for his tactile approach to sculpture, playing with texture, experimental techniques, and natural materials. Nacho believes objects to be ‘living organisms’ that come alive and surprise us with their behavior. Born in Valencia, Spain, Carbonell lives and works in Eindhoven, Netherlands. A graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, he focuses on conceptually charged objects and installations, exploring the tensions between form and function, nature and culture, design, and art.
