‘Spring’ is a sensational dose of Mathieu Lehanneur’s melding of technology with design. The subtle combination of hues allows the fluidity of lines and pattern to be at the forefront, where the physical state of the material is questions: a transition transfixed somewhere between solid liquid and gas. Reached through Lehanneur's constant experimentation and research, each piece finds itself constantly in-between; solid and liquid, design and art, furniture and sculpture. Spring Lamps’ that stand on an Irish Green Connemara base with its glass light raze dramatically striking deep arched curves. With Spring Lamp, Lehanneur createsan light sculpture that examines nature’s poetic, ecological metamorphosis, comprised of a bundle of hand-blown, ribbed-glass tubes in a rich green marble base. Both the marble and glass were incorporated into the piece in their natural color and condition, inciting a primitive moment in an otherwise distinctly modern, surrealist piece.
