These Jacaranda and enameled steel lounge chairs were designed by Martin Eisler and produced by Forma Brasil in 1950. The design is referenced in “Brazil Modern” published by Monacelli Press in 2016 (p. 205).
Born in Vienna, Eisler (1913-1977) moved to Buenos Aires in 1938. There he met Carlos Hauner, with whom he founded furniture company Forma Brasil. Forma manufactured the founders’ own designs alongside others licensed from Knoll International. The duo played a key role in defining mid-century modernism in Brazil.
