Composed of a flowing line of sculpted bronze, a translucent marble slap table top, and a shaped lighted mirror, Markus Haase’s mirror console expands the virtuosity he has brought to his popular Circlet Series of one-of-a-kind bronze lighting and furniture.
The sculpted bronze that comprises the skeleton of the console, with the fluid look of a column of smoke, is hand-sculpted before casting. The framed mirror is enhanced by a lighted sweep of LEDs set in hand-carved onyx diffusing a warm glow of the embedded LEDs.
Combining a mastery of traditional sculpting techniques with a contemporary, material-driven approach to design, Haase is one of the only artists working today crafting unique works in bronze. Rather than using the casting process as a mechanism for producing multiples, each of his bronze and onyx light sculptures is completely one-of-a-kind.
