Keyaki elm divided into two equal parts, Shinya Yamamura's nakatsugi tea caddy is illuminated with a design of raden arranged into concentric circles. Yamamura cuts each circle individually so that the myriad variety of colors may appear, highetening the illustriousness of the abalone shell. Yamamura's maki-e caddy brilliantly shows the colors of the rainbow using entirely organic materials.
