Unique. Luke Fuller reflects upon the notion of place as being constructed by human experience, often forged by industrialisation and our enduring dependence on raw materials. His ‘Repointing’ series is informed by research into brick making, a foundation of urban society. Through these pieces he pays homage to the traditional process of producing handmade bricks by throwing clay into wooden moulds; each piece embodies the kinetic energy used in their fabrication. The artist has received awards including Nagoya University of Art, Japan, Grand Prize; the UK Business Design Centre Designer of the Year Award; and The Richard Seager Bursary Award.
