The Light Stacks series explores the play of light against a wide range of materials such as brass, polished aluminum, white oak, yellow pine, concrete, painted MDF, and more. Each slender assemblage of thin and thick rings presents a different expression of the object exploring the emotional resonance between materials and light. The series explores these subtle light shifts but is ultimately driven by a desire to create interior monuments capable of projecting an emotional context onto a space. Convenional and unexpected building materials combine to create unforeseen patterns of diffusion, reflection, color and scale.
