After training as a sculptor in Europe, Lin Jing returned to China to become a pioneer in Chinese contemporary design. Her new series of artisanal rugs, Contradiction Space, explore the surprising complexities and kaleidoscopic irregularities of flattened 3D spaces. Produced by artisan carpet maker Tan Carpet & Home in Kathmandu, Nepal, these handmade rugs were created using a high-density, handcrafted Tibetan weaving technique, which includes over 20 manual procedures and solely uses high-altitude natural Tibetan wool and real silk.
