For over 30 years, Katherine Glenday has created meditative ceramic objects by hand in her South African workshop, often utilizing natural elements from nearby Kalk Bay. Her study of light, movement, water, earth, and sound have found form through thrown and slip-cast porcelain vessels, remarkable in their translucency and luminosity. Each piece has its own resonating sound and purity of form. Taken together, this body of work reflects the artist’s ongoing conversation with stillness and tranquility.
