Judy Kensley McKie crafted this table in 1997. It's made of torch-cut iron with a patinated bronze enamel finish. An edition of 32, it's signed and numbered on the underside.
Trained at RISD and based in Boston, McKie is a premiere figure of the American Studio Furniture movement whose work is represented in many museum collections throughout the world. She's made furniture in a variety of materials: carved and painted wood, cast bronze, torch cut iron, marble, stone, and resin. The work is infused with a lively awareness of modernism, contemporary art, and indigenous cultures.
