The model floor lamp was designed by Joseph-André Motte and edited by Pierre Disdero in 1960. It was exhibited in the 1960 Triennale di Milano and can now be found in the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Centre National des Arts Plastiques/Fonds National d’Art Contemporain.
French designer Motte (1925–2013), alongside contemporaries like Pierre Guariche and Pierre Paulin, defined modernist design in postwar France. He worked effortlessly and elegantly across scales, from furniture to large-scale public projects.
