This simple, upholstered chair was created by José Zanine Caldas in the 1950s. The price excludes taxes, shipping, and crating.
Born on the southern coast of Bahia, Caldas (1919-2001) was a self-taught designer and architect. In 1948, he co-founded Móveis Artisticos Z, a furniture company dedicated to modernist principles. Not long after, his work shifted; drawing inspiration from Bahian artisans, he began to create sculptural functional objects from felled trees.
