This five-branche Bouquet Wall Light was created by Jean Royère circa 1950. It features black-painted metal. Documentation can be found in Archives Jean Royère, Galerie Jacques Lacoste & Galerie Patrick Seguin, cliché N° 586 for a similar model at Monsieur M.'s in Paris circa 1943.
Born into a wealthy French family, Royère (1902-1981) embarked on his design career rather late. In 1931, at age 29, he went to learn his new profession in the cabinetmaking workshops of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris. Just a few years later, he was deemed an international design sensation—a stature he would hold until the 1970s. His clients included luminaries like King Farouk, King Hussein of Jordan, the Shah of Iran, among many more.
