This Cork Library Table comes from Jasper Morrison's first complete collection of limited editions in cork. The designer selected this material for its remarkable functionality as well as its unique atmospheric qualities. Cork is traditionally harvested from the outer layers of cork oak trees, but the cork used in this collection has been reconstituted from discarded wine bottle corks—some still visible in their original shape. In 2020, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art acquired one of Morrison's Cork Armchairs. This design is produced on order and has a lead time of 6-8 weeks.
Based in London, Morrison is considered one of the world’s foremost industrial designers. His insistence on elegant simplicity has earned him a global following and transformed the way we look at everyday objects. Morrison's work can be found in significant international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Centre Pompidou, Victoria & Albert Museum, Design Museum London, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Vitra Design Museum, and M+ in Hong Kong.
