This naturally dyed, felted wool vase was created by Inês Schertel in 2020. Like all of her works, this piece is a one-of-a-kind. Schertel is a Brazilian textile designer whose works are informed by a 6,000-year-old technique—not woven on a loom, but felted through the friction of wool fibers in a mixture of water and soap. The wool she uses comes from the herd of sheep that live on her ranch in Rio Grande do Sul.
