Hugo França sculpted this lounge chair from pequi wood that was originally a canoe crafted by the Pataxó people in the south of Bahia, Brazil. França is a Brazilian artist internationally known for sculpting furniture in reclaimed wood while preserving the organic forms of the trees. He only uses remnants of condemned trees; through his hands, overlooked trunks, unearthed roots, and hollowed out logs are converted into unique functional objects./p>
