For the "Tiles" series, Hella uses a technique that was used in the early oil paints in particular, which makes it possible to achieve a wide range of colours with a limited range of pigments. Enamel layers of different colours are applied to the coloured clay from the large tesserae, which partially cover the clay. This superimposition between the colour of the bare clay and the glaze layering creates new and unexpected colours. This work is completely in line with Hella Jongerius' research into colour. "My ultimate goal is to oppose the power of colour to the power of form." H.J. Limited edition of 20 pieces + 2 A.P. + 2 Prototypes Numbered & signed pieces.
