Topography II is a unique sculpture by Hanne Friis, whose handmade, tactile works challenge and expand the boundaries between art and craft. Organic and baroque formations spring forth from the sensual pleated and hand-sewn textile materials, which vary between loose, hanging folds and condensed sections.
The work of pioneering Norwegian textile artist Hanne Friis is represented in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts & Design Oslo, Oslo Municipality Art Collection, KODE Art Museum, Museum of Decorative Arts & Design Bergen, Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum, and Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum. She lives and works in Oslo.
