This black metal floor lamp was designed by Gino Sarfatti and produced by Arteluce, circa 1966. It is in its original, unrestored condition.
Born in Venice, Gino Sarfatti (1912-1985) studied aero-naval engineering at the University of Genoa before launching his visionary lighting design and manufacturing company Arteluce in 1939. Over the course of his career, he designed over 400 lamps; driven by technical, material, and production research. Sarfatti and Arteluce won several awards, including the Compasso d’Oro in 1954 and 1955. Flos acquired Arteluce in 1973.
