Named for his daughter, the Mira Chair was originally designed by George Nakashima around 1950. It features a triangular seat supported by three turned legs and reflects the influence of Shaker furniture. As with all of Nakashima's designs, it is engineered so that stability isn't an issue. This Mira Chair was crafted in 1965.
Nakashima (1905-1990) was an American architect and furniture maker who is considered to be the father of the American Craft movement.
