Myers uses three materials for this work; brass, bronze and aluminium. All solid pieces fused together on the back keeping the front minimal and clean with the perfect amount of patina. This is an early work signed twice on reverse [forrest MYERS 1970 & fm70 incised] 


Born in Long Beach, Myers is an artist best known for Moon Museum (1969) and The Wall (1973), as well as for his ongoing production of art furniture. In the early 1960s, he moved to New York and formed The Park Place Gallery, along with Mark di Suvero, Robert Grosvenor, Ed Ruda, and others. His work was shown at the legendary Paula Cooper Gallery when it opened in 1968. Around the same time, he joined Experiments in Art & Technology (E.A.T.), founded by Fred Waldhauer, Billy Kluver, Robert Rauschenberg, and Robert Witman. Myers’s work can be found in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, Storm King Art Center, and Virginia Museum of Art. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
