This easy chair was designed by Flemming Lassen in 1935 and executed by master cabinetmaker A. J. Iversen. The design first appeared as a sketch for the furniture competition, A Living Room in a Bachelor’s Apartment, which was held in association with the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild exhibition. It was shown for the first time the following year. The chair has legs of stained wood; the body is upholstered in yellow fabric similar to as it was acquired. It’s in original condition. Flemming Lassen (1902-1984) was a Danish architect and designer working in the modernist idiom.
