Description

For his Silla Tropical, Fabien Cappello collaborated with local artisans and sourced everyday Mexican objects and materials, including the tubular metal for the frame, the tule for the woven seat, and the rawhide for the neck roll. The design was commissioned by the Archivo Library of the Archivo Diseño y Arquitectura (2017) and is available now as an open edition made to order.

Born in France, Cappello is an award-winning furniture and product designer. He studied at the University of Art & Design (ECAL) in Lausanne and in 2009 obtained his MA in Design Products at London’s Royal College of Art under the tutelage of Martino Gamper and Jurgen Bey. He founded his eponymous studio in 2010 and relocated to Mexico City in 2015.
