Elizabeth Garouste, trained in interior architecture, and Mattia Bonetti trained in textiles, have collaborated on the production of imaginative, flamboyant, and finely crafted furniture, lighting, and objets d’art in the 1980s and1990s.
They have left their baroque and non-conformist mark on the aesthetics of interior decoration. Renewing the taste for ornamentation, the sense of color and the alliance of unexpected materials, they reveal a wealth of inspiration and creative freedom that cheerfully sweeps away conventions and dogmatisms. Their works can be found in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs Bordeaux, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, among others.
