Diego Giacometti conceived two different tapestry designs in the 1980s, Promenade des Amis and La Rencontre. Both were produced in editions of 100, plus artist proofs.The first thirty-five pieces from the edition were reserved for friends and devoted clients in the United States. This handwoven wool piece was produced in 1985 and is signed and numbered on the back. Ed. 21/100 pieces. Diego Giacometti (1902-1985) was a Swiss sculptor and designer. His early professional life was dedicated to assisting and advising his older brother, sculptor Alberto Giacometti. Around 1939, he began to create his own sculptural works. After 1950, he increasingly created furniture and objects, mostly made to order for interior designers, art collectors, and gallery owners.
