This one-of-a-kind ceramic object was created by David Hicks in 2019. It is a result of the artist's ongoing exploration of the agricultural and the shapes and themes that can be found in the fields surrounding his home.
Hicks is a ceramic artist who lives and works in North Carolina. His work examines the formal qualities of plants and organic forms common to the American landscape. He holds a BFA from California State University in Long Beach and an MFA from Alfred University in New York. His work is widely exhibited and can found in the permanent collections of the World Ceramic Exhibition in South Korea, the United States Embassy Art Collection, and the American Museum of Ceramic Art.
