Hicks is a ceramic artist who lives and works in North Carolina. His work examines the formal qualities of plants and organic forms common to the American landscape. He holds a BFA from California State University in Long Beach and an MFA from Alfred University in New York. His work is widely exhibited and can found in the permanent collections of the World Ceramic Exhibition in South Korea, the United States Embassy Art Collection, and the American Museum of Ceramic Art.
