Danish Furniture Design in the 20th Century was written by Professor Arne Karlsen (1927-2018) and published by Christian Eljers Forlag and Dansk Mobelkunst in 2007. An architect, furniture designer, and professor of interior and industrial design at Aarhus School of Architecture, Karlsen is regarded as one of the greatest connoisseurs of Danish furniture design. The book covers several decades of Danish design history—from the foundations laid by the Klint School in the 1920’s to the mid-century “golden age” that produced so many of the greats. The book contains many original drawings and photographs by architectural photographer Aage Lund Jensen. Specs: hardcover; two-volume set in slipcase; volume 1 is 230 pages; volume 2 is 334 pages; and the text is in English.
