Claude Lalanne, Collerette $35,000>
Didier Ltd

Throughout her career, Claude Lalanne’s interest in nature resulted in playful and fantastical designs, including jewelry, and the cabbage was a recurring theme. Designed by Lalanne and produced by Artcurial in an unfinished edition of 100, this hinged, gilt-bronze necklace is cast from cabbage leaves and features a front hook fastening. It is offered with the original box and certificate.

Among the most unique and dynamic creative partnerships of the 20th century, Les Lalannes—that is, Claude (1924-2019) and François-Xavier (1927-2008) Lalanne—are revered for their highly imaginative, finely crafted objets d’art. Their work can be found in the most important collections around the world, including the Cooper Hewitt Museum, Museé Nationale d’Art Moderne-Centre Georges Pompidou, and Museé d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris.
