Chmara.Rosinke designed the Y Shelf in 2019. The attractive geometry of the form plays with light and shadow and highlights the piece's display function. Made of blue painted birch plywood, the Y Shelf measures 200 x 38 x 190 cm, but it can be ordered in custom sizes and colors. It is an open edition made to order.
Chmara.Rosinke is a multidisciplinary design studio established in 2011 by Maciej Chmara and Ania Rosinke. Both were born in Gdynia, Poland, and studied interior architecture, design strategies, and architecture in Gdansk, Linz, and Vienna. Currently dividing their time between Vienna and Berlin, the pair—partners both in life and work—creates work spanning tabletop objects and furniture to fully immersive experimental environments and functional interiors. Their designs are remarkable for their simplicity, ecological awareness, and a poetic language of forms.
The studio’s designs have been exhibited internationally in prestigious galleries, museums, and design fairs. The duo was distinguished as designers-in residence at the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna (MAK) in 2013. Their works are included in the permanent collections of multiple institutions, including MAK, HofmobilienDepot Vienna, and Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin, as well as those of several private collectors.
