The first model of Charlotte Perriand’s Free Form Table was presented during the famous 1957 Domestic Arts exhibition, in which Perriand presented her Japanese House. The interiors were designed by Sori Yanagi. The Free Form Table was very unusual for its time. It was produced in a very small quantity under Perriand and Steph Simon’s control.
Born in Paris, Perriand (1903-1999) was a French architect-designer who is known for her collaborations with Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Jean Prouvé as well as her visionary independent projects that disseminated sophisticated modernist design around the world.
